problem solving
Exceeding Expectations
All businesses face challenges at some time or another. Throughout his 20-year litigation career, Peter has seen a wide variety of difficulties organisations seek to resolve, and, in working at Partner or Director level since 2009, he has also faced a number of challenges within his own businesses. Peter draws upon this vast experience to help others through difficulties they are facing.
Perhaps you have been presented with a dispute from an external source, or there is an issue within the business itself. Not every problem has a trigger event, it may be that things have been slowly going adrift and need to be course-corrected. What is true of all unresolved problems though is that they can result in a substantial use of time and money, and create a stressful, often emotional, human impact. In all cases, the best way to resolve a problem is to face it, no matter how difficult that could be.
How we deal with a problem can be as important as the solution. When Unity was established, it was with the purpose of providing our clients with pragmatic advice and a resolution that was right for the business, and the people behind it. We take a collaborative approach, working closely with our clients, getting to know the people as much as the business itself. This enables us to really understand the desired outcome and maximises our ability to understand the full scope of solutions and apply the strategy most appropriate for those particular needs. Solutions that are not only commercially sensible, but ones which the business owners and managers are comfortable with and align with their business, and personal, values and goals.
Once the problem is solved focus can then move, if necessary, to how the problem arose, what lessons can be learnt, and what practical steps can be taken to reduce the risk of future problems, providing comfort and security to all those involved.
